I'm moving to a new website!!

Hey guys. For those of you who still visit this blog - thanx! However, I've greated a new one on which you can feast your eyes on! It's at my original domain/website called http://www.yolandemarx.co.za/. I've decided to 'revamp' it a little and made it a little more user friendly and prettier to look at!

I won't be making any more posts here from now on. Everything will be in one place instead of having this blog seperate from my website.

One of the best things about my new "blogsite" is that the images are so much larger and clearer! Oh, and the flash header showing pictures below my new logo is also just so darn gorgeous! ♥♥

Heiberg Family (10 July 2010)

On Saturday I had the privilage of photographing a photographer family! Anton and Setilda are both photographers and asked me to do a family shoot with them and their two boys, Zan-Roux (6) and Zerko (3).
After driving around Middelburg for an entire day, we were lucky enough to find a spot of grass that hadn't been burned to the ground. They have the most adorable little boys. But I always find it funny (and endearing) how the parents have to "persuade" their kids to look at the camera :) Although, it does make for a few good candid photographs!

Continent Queen de Afrique

Oh my goodness. I have been soooo bad at blogging the past month! May has definately been one of the most hectic months for me this year and in between moving and editing, I guess I just enjoyed the winter solitude a little too much :)

But I'm back and I've already got a family shoot as well as a wedding lined up for the month! So much more blog posts to come :)

I've been debating with myself whether to post these pictures or not, but since these girls are so beautiful (and because I feel guilty for my absense), I decided to post them!

They were taken at the Continent Queen de Afrique modeling competition and fashion show that was held at Little Elephants Arts & Crafts Market on the 28/29th of May.

For this shoot I rented the Canon 7D and oh my word!! What a beauty that camera was! It felt like it weighed a ton (it had a battery pack) and my wrists are still mad at me, but it was totally worth it! Now if R17 000 could just fall into my lap so that I could go and buy myself one of those babies, the world would be a happy place :)

The Petzer family - Verlorenkloof (2 June 2010)

On Wednesday I drove through to Verlorenkloof (between Machadodorp and Lydenburg) to photograph the most beautiful family while they were taking some time off.
Wow! is all I can say of how beautifull it is there and how tranquil. No city lights or people to bother you.

After a horrendous move to a new house I can finally update my blog again! Yay! It seems like such a good idea to move and make a fresh start but let me give you some advice. If you're going to be living alone don't schedule work (or shoots) on the weekend that your moving! haha..

I made that mistake and it has been so hard living out of one or two boxes while editing takes up most of my time. I've been eating the same type of soup every single night of this week! If I never see soup again it'll be too soon :)

Anyway, enough of my troubles. Here are some pics of a "mini-shoot" I did for Estelle and her mom recently. She wanted to participate in a pageant at school and needed some portraits.

Saterdag het ek vir Hannelie en haar twee dogters, Elrike en Carina, in Witbank afgeneem. As ek geweet het arme Elrike se been is so seer as gevolg van 'n motorfietsongeluk, het ek nie 'n berg gekies om op foto's te neem nie! Haha. Maar ek dink die foto's het wonderlik uitgekom.
